Outstanding Website award winner

We have won an Outstanding Website award in the 17th annual Web Marketing Association competition.

Websites from all parts of the world are eligible for the awards, and more than 1,500 entries from 40 countries were adjudicated during this year's competition.

The Legacy 2014 website earned the award after being judged to be consistently above the industry average for seven criteria - design, copy writing, innovation, content, interactivity, navigation, and use of technology.

The judges commented:

“Good, clean, simple and well sign-posted information architecture, with well-crafted and focused content.”

“The dominant message on the home page is centered around case studies - real life examples of people benefiting from government investment and support. It sends a strong message that the people of Scotland are at the heart of this site's focus.”

“To see a section on what is legacy is refreshing. So much is talked about in the media it's almost become a buzz word but does not always get backed up with tangible evidence. The site links to how legacy will be measured which was interesting to see, and the section how are we doing denotes an ambition towards real honesty and transparency. Really good.”

"Nice modern design. I love the legacy timeline on the bottom of the main page. Very well done site!"

Since the judging took place we have introduced the interactive Legacy In Action map where people can search by postcode to see how their community is benefitting from legacy. New features to the website are coming soon!
